Book Five: Bird/Design Flourish

The purpose of Book 5, Bird and Design Flourishing and Selected FW Tamblyn Flourishing Lessons, is to provide how to comments, instructions on how to hold the pen and lessons on offhand flourishing. The lessons start with simple flourishing designs going to elaborate works complete with scrolls, quills, birds and other designs. These examples of flourishing are arranged so a student may profit greatly by taking the units as they appear in the book-one after the other. In this way, good progress can be made by individual study at home. At the end of the book are FW Tamblyn’s lessons on flourishing. Tamblyn was one of the master flourishers in the early 1900’s.
